A New Chapter in Tasmania’s Energy Future: Alternate Path Secures Clean Energy Partnership with Gamuda
Alternate Path is proud to announce its role in shaping one of Tasmania’s most significant renewable energy developments to date.
In partnership with the Downie Family—respected Tasmanian landowners with a deep-rooted commitment to their region—and global infrastructure leader Gamuda, we are co-developing a portfolio of clean energy projects in Central Tasmania. This landowner-led initiative, which includes the Weasel Solar Farm and Cellars Hill Wind Farm, will deliver up to 550 MW of wind and solar energy, supported by up to 600 MW of battery storage.
At Alternate Path, we believe the energy transition must be inclusive, transparent, and grounded in local benefit. This project is a leading example of that vision. Developed in collaboration with landowners and local communities, the portfolio is designed to deliver long-term economic and environmental outcomes, including energy rebates for nearby households and sustained employment opportunities for the region.
Gamuda’s investment and commitment to uphold the landowner-led principles of the portfolio will bring financial strength and delivery expertise, ensuring that Tasmania remains at the forefront of Australia’s clean energy future.
This milestone is a win for landowners, communities, and clean energy investment. It marks another step on our mission to deliver strategic pathways for ambitious energy, infrastructure, and transport projects that reshape what’s possible.
Stay tuned as we help bring these projects to life.
